Each piece undergoes a multi-phase durability test to ensure it endures salt, sweat, chlorine, and time.
Sweat Test
Each piece undergoes an acid test to confirm its authenticity and metal composition. We submerge each piece in acidic vinegar, simulating sweat, to verify that our metals are genuine stainless steel or sterling silver — never cheap alloys or coatings.
Salt Water Test
Saltwater is nature’s toughest challenge for metal. Our pieces are immersed to verify that the finish won’t flake, rust, or lose its luster — even in ocean air or humid conditions. It’s how we ensure strength worthy of the sea.
Chlorine Test
Chlorine can be surprisingly harsh on metals, so we expose our designs to controlled chlorine solutions to test for fading or pitting. The result: pieces that stay beautiful, even after a dip in the pool.
Before introducing any new design, we put a prototype of each piece through a rock tumbler test — mixing it with coins and keys to simulate years of real-world wear. Only when the metals and finishes meet our durability standards do we move forward using pieces from the same batch in our final collections.
“As the craftsman behind GroveTop Studio (Motif Metalworks), I wear the Celtic Fusion piece every day. For me, it’s more than just jewelry—it’s a connection to my heritage, blending both my Nordic and Celtic roots. It reminds me daily of the reverence for nature that these cultures held dear, while also keeping me grounded in my modern values and faith. I hope each piece we create can give you that same sense of rootedness and meaning.”
